With regard to Prowind’s response to the news release that our citizens’ group has hired an environmental law firm, and their statement that they are following all the rules of the process in Ontario, we would like to say simply, if that process is so satisfactory, then why are more than 50 communities across Ontario calling for a halt to wind turbine developments (they are not wind ‘farms’) until proper independent health studies are done?
And how do Ontario taxpayers feel about the fact that the developers complete their own environmental screening report … and then it is simply rubber-stamped by the Ministry of the Environment?
Not one single wind turbine development in Ontario has ever had an environmental review done by other than the developer themselves.
We say again, it’s time for rural Ontario citizens to take whatever steps necessary to protect their own health and property values. This government is not going to do it for you.
