“Dalton McGuinty has been caught ignoring the concerns…” – Hudak

THUNDER BAY – As Thunder Bay Council continues to mull over what to do about the Horizon Wind Farm in the city, the Ontario Progressive Conservatives are placing the whole problem at the feet of Premier Dalton McGuinty.

Dalton McGuinty’s so-called ‘Green Energy’ scheme will force Ontario families to pay more for industrial wind farms over which they have no control.  This has little to do with the environment and everything to do with rewarding Dalton McGuinty’s friends at Samsung,” states Tim Hudak, PC Party leader.

The PC leader asserts, “Once again, Dalton McGuinty has been caught ignoring the concerns of Ontario families with his ‘Dalton Knows Best’ attitude.  In this case, McGuinty’s so-called ‘Green Energy Act,’ a sweeping piece of legislation that has little to do with the environment and a lot to do with paying out massive sweetheart subsidies at an enormous expense to Ontario families and businesses”.

The PCs are proposing that the power for planning wind farms be restored to Ontario Municipalities. “The so-called ‘Green Energy Act’ allows the Toronto based, bloated, energy bureaucrats at the Ontario Power Authority to arbitrarily place industrial wind farms anywhere in Ontario regardless of the views of the democratically elected local governments,” charges Hudak.

Quick Facts:

  • Schedule A of the Green Energy Act empowers the McGuinty Government to overrule municipal by-laws and local concerns when locating industrial wind farms.
  • April’s average wholesale market price for electricity today was 3.1 cents per kWh.  Ontario families will be forced to pay at least four times as much in special tariffs for electricity from Dalton McGuinty’s industrial wind farms for the next 20 years.

  1. Let’s turn this around.

Which politician was paying attention to the concerns of the people affected by Wind Turbines?

Which politician spoke up when the Green Energy Act usurped the power of parliament and effectively removed the voice of the people in the decision making progress?

Which politician analyzed the efficiency and effectiveness of the so called Green Energy that was foisted on the Ontario people.

Which politician stood up for democracy and the rule of law?

Which politician fought to defend the constitutional rights of the people?

Which politician spoke out in parliament on any of these issues and can point to the record?

Which politician spoke out in any public interview and can point to a record.

Can any politician hold up their head and say: “I did so!”????

…or must they all hang their head in shame because they only thing they upheld was a wet finger — to test the direction of the wind?

    What do you think?
