The West Lincoln Wind Action Group is holding a public information meeting on industrial wind turbines Nov. 10, 6:30 p. m. at the Caistor Community Centre, 9184 Regional Rd. 65 (Silver St.), in Caistor Centre.

The meeting will feature speakers from across the province discussing the serious impacts of industrial turbines as installed and subsidized under the provincial Green Energy Act. West Lincoln has been targeted for five industrial wind turbines to be constructed in May as stage 1 of an application to the Ministry of the Environment by IPC Energy of Mississauga

The evening’s keynote speaker is Carmen Krogh from the Ottawa area who will speak about the serious health effects experienced by people living close to wind turbines.

Also addressing the meeting will be Stephana Johnston from Port Rowan in nearby Norfolk County. Johnston has firsthand experience of living next to an IPC Energy (formerly AIM) wind farm consisting of 18 industrial wind turbines that were powered up on Nov. 22, 2008 and will speak of the ill health effects she and her neighbors have experienced. Johnston states that more than half the residents living within three kilometers of the IPC wind farm report their health is suffering.

Also speaking will be David Colling from the Ripley area near Kincardine where he was a dairy farmer for 27 years and where there are 38 wind turbines that have been operating since December 2007. Colling initially considered leasing his farm for a wind turbine until he did some research and decided against it. He advises all farmers to wait until further studies are conducted and “the truth be known; good, bad or indifferent.” Colling will give a power point presentation on what farmers need to be aware of when signing contracts with large energy corporations.

  1. Perhaps ~ 3 years ago it cost the City of Cleveland,Ohio $250,000 per acre of brownfield for removal and cleanup for a redevelopment project. This included building removal.

So anyone considering allowing wind turbines to be installed on their land had better first determine what the removal costs will be if they later get stuck with them on their land.

  2. No more are the governments looking after the good hard working citizens of this country. The country Canada is a corporation and such will allow other profit making or whatever corporation the red carpet. while ignoring our rights and freedoms from us and shoving more more expenses through higher tax cost for corporations with their benefits.we have send our government notices of our rights and freedoms and make them accountable for the destruction they are creating. We the citizen own the resources of this country not them and we need to remind them of that to.We should not dictators in our country and that is exactly what is happening here,Time to get of the couches and tell them all in a peaceful manner. This is our country and we do not need to abused by thugs and bullies

  3. Corporation is the legal framework that all government entities must use inorder to conduct their legal and business affairs.

It’s not the corporation that is causing the problems but rather the people who are running the corporation.

Same is true for private corporations.

  4. Corporations are governed by marine law and they want us to be under that law which are controlled by the eletis which do not care about our personal lives just to keep us as slaves. We should be under the common law the law of the land which gives us our charter of rights. Sorry Barbara legal framework of the elites not for man and thats where a lot of us are still asleep and most of us do not want to understand this as this would be like to much responsibility on our behalf.

  5. NIMBY:

That is a pretty confused view of the law.

Corporations are indeed bound by common law, as well as contract law and criminal law… and they must navigate a myriad of specific Acts — health and safety, Labour Law etc… Maybe a course in business law could help you — but a few minutes here will not.

Now, whether some people ignore the laws is another issue.

In this case the Green Energy Act does indeed appear to be in violation of Charter of Rights as it give the Minister (Really the Premier) the right to enact law and taxes without reference to parliament (The legislature).

King Dalton really does have his way — doesn’t he?

  6. I know one law is that we do the right to live in peace in our own house and that trumps any other law be it an act from a dictator, He is just out to protect big business not for the common man The law society is a society that we do not belong to or really understand. Most of us are just sheepies follow along . Most of us are confused of really what our true rights are. Corporations are fictional just like your birth certificate all in capital’ letters and you are a slave to the system and you never realize that your person birth certificate is traded as stock by the number on the back of your birth certificate. You as a man represent that corporate number person which is fictional. Sleep if you want and dismiss this, up to you. Cheers

  7. No question that you are confused.

“I know one law is that we do the right to live in peace in our own house and that trumps any other law be it an act from a dictator, ”

So much for your right to your house…

Maybe you should read “The Prince” — it would help you to understand Ontario Politics as practiced by the current crop[ of ne’r-do-wells

The above quote is from someone (a humble peasant) who understood “RealPolitik” long before Henry Kissinger burst onto the scene… and perhaps knew of Rochau — but more likely made an independent discovery…

“Realpolitik (see also Political realism; from German: real “realistic”, “practical” or “actual”; and Politik “politics”) refers to politics or diplomacy based primarily on power and on practical and material factors and considerations, rather than ideological notions or moralistic or ethical premises. In this respect, it shares aspects of its philosophical approach with those of realism and pragmatism. The term realpolitik is often used pejoratively to imply politics that are coercive, amoral, or Machiavellian. Realpolitik is a theory of politics that focuses on considerations of power, not ideals, morals, or principles. The term was coined by Ludwig von Rochau, a German writer and politician in the 19th century, following Klemens von Metternich’s lead in finding ways to balance the power of European empires. Balancing power to keep the European pentarchy was the means for keeping the peace, and careful Realpolitik practitioners tried to avoid arms races.”

“Upon this a question arises: whether it be better to be loved than feared or feared than loved? It may be answered that one should wish to be both, but, because it is difficult to unite them in one person, is much safer to be feared than loved, when, of the two, either must be dispensed with. Because this is to be asserted in general of men, that they are ungrateful, fickle, false, cowardly, covetous, and as long as you succeed they are yours entirely; they will offer you their blood, property, life and children, as is said above, when the need is far distant; but when it approaches they turn against you. And that prince who, relying entirely on their promises, has neglected other precautions, is ruined; because friendships that are obtained by payments, and not by greatness or nobility of mind, may indeed be earned, but they are not secured, and in time of need cannot be relied upon; and men have less scruple in offending one who is beloved than one who is feared, for love is preserved by the link of obligation which, owing to the baseness of men, is broken at every opportunity for their advantage; but fear preserves you by a dread of punishment which never fails.

Nevertheless a prince ought to inspire fear in such a way that, if he does not win love, he avoids hatred; because he can endure very well being feared whilst he is not hated, which will always be as long as he abstains from the property of his citizens and subjects and from their women. But when it is necessary for him to proceed against the life of someone, he must do it on proper justification and for manifest cause, but above all things he must keep his hands off the property of others, because men more quickly forget the death of their father than the loss of their patrimony. Besides, pretexts for taking away the property are never wanting; for he who has once begun to live by robbery will always find pretexts for seizing what belongs to others; but reasons for taking life, on the contrary, are more difficult to find and sooner lapse. But when a prince is with his army, and has under control a multitude of soldiers, then it is quite necessary for him to disregard the reputation of cruelty, for without it he would never hold his army united or disposed to its duties. “

  9. Hi David you go ahead and follow the rest of the sheep. i would like to mention I do not have the answers to all of the problems never will. Yes, confused I may be,but I cannot accept a dictatorship from our government. I am still learning ,as this problem that the government has presented to me and my family and their absolute disgraceful behaviour made me learn what life is all about. Your story is simply not interesting to me. You should maybe check out your true identity and how you became a slave to this society by your parents obtaining a birth certificate,That is definitely not confusing.

  10. NIMBY,

Many of the problems we are facing lie not with our form of government but with the people who have abused our form of government.

Some in government think they have the right to remove self government from the citizens. This what has to be stopped.

English Common Law is perhaps the finest law one can find on planet earth. It is not perfect but just compare it to other forms of law that most of the world lives under. Don’t think you would choose to live under those other laws.

  11. Our state of country is becoming too arrogant . You see it all over, less and less freedoms. More and more laws. You probably break a law every day. Look at our police they are now becoming protectors of the Wind Industry at your meetings. They are killing people and insulting people constantly. Our system is eroding very fast and you need to wake up ot of your sleep.Your choice, I see it the way I see it. You can’t change my mind anymore I am waking up out of my sleep

  12. Nimby,

Agree with you that are freedoms are being eroded because the citizens have failed to prevent this from happening.

Perhaps the wind turbine issues will be a wakeup call.

  13. Yes,we all have been asleep at the wheel and it is getting harder to stay in tune with so many more distractions.I am guilty of that to. Until they ruin my life with this green energy act. Now I have to act up. maybe i will have a good sleep tonight as I need to work to pay them off with there idiot ways of spending our resources
