No more standard political nonsense from our MPP

Stratford Beacon Herald

Less than .5% (one half of one percent) of all of Canada is designated class 1 agriculture land. It is totally irresponsible to place even one wind turbine on agriculture land .

How can MPP John Wilkinson justify the provincial government saying that there are few complaints regarding the windmill turbine issue in rural Ontario?

There are 76 councils on record, representing about 2,000,000 Ontario residents, asking for a moratorium on turbine construction. Please, no standard political nonsense as a response. I do not want to hear about any previous government’s mishandling of the energy policy.

That has zero to do with social and economic problems created by turbines in rural communities today and going forward.

I would appreciate in his own words the reasoning for dismissing 2,000,000 Ontario resident’s concerns.

That number continues to rise as more people are aware of how this affects their lives forever.

While you are dismissing about 20% of the population that is concerned and asking questions, you are dismissing 100% of the people who are directly affected by construction of these industrial turbines.

That is the one and only question I would like answered.

I ask Mr. Wilikinson to skip the standard political response and answer from the heart.

  1. “I ask Mr. Wilikinson to skip the standard political response and answer from the heart.”

    What “heart”?

  2. I say gather up all your old or outdated hearing aids and mail them off to your Liberal MPP. The Liberals seem decided hard of hearing on the wind turbine issue.

  3. Quixote: Not only does Mr. Wilkinson have no heart, he also has no conscience and no common sense.
He does have unwavering allegiance to Dalton McGuinty and the Party Line as do the rest of the Liberals misrepresenting us at Queen’s Park.
A new broom is needed in October to sweep this parliament chamber clean and restore democracy to rural Ontario.

  6. Good idea Lynne! And I would also question whether Mr. Wilkinson can answer from the heart. You have to have one to be able to do that.

  7. Actually he took part in a United Way fundraiser to raise funds for people that were having trouble paying their..heating bills.
Some fool actually commended him for doing this.
Here’s a guy that caused the pain in there asking you to give your after tax dollars to pay peoples bills because of his governments policies.

Barbara …You are amazing finding all this info for weeks now.

  14. I was invited to participate in a conference call with MPP Wilkinson this evening. I asked the same question as above.
Nothing was answered regarding the Class 1 land issue. I guess food production takes a back seat to evertything.
He also said they have only recieved about 50 phone calls regarding health issues and certainly not from 2,000,000 residents. So there is not an issue there.

I guess he is right , the 76 councils did not phone him ?????
He did not even acknowledge that they had sent proposals on our behalf.
And the song aned dance began !!!

I believe it is time for all concerned to pick up the phone and bombard his office tomorrow and stay online until you are answered.

We all have a legitimate mental health issues over this regardless of how close or far we live from these turbines, otherwise we would not be writing on this forum.

  15. John Wilkerson should learn from Kathleen Wynn. At least when she announces highway extensions she talks about ‘listening’ to the community.

Also the protest sign behind the Mayor of Oshawa about 1 minute in.

  16. The sign in the background it great. Whoever was there with the sign should be considered brilliant. In the background so it is not noticed by the camera crew. The sign is eye catching and most should be familiar with it now.

  17. Just wait until you read the Toronto Star this morning!

Toronto has placed second in a Green Award by the WWF in part because they have 1 wind turbine in the city!!! When the subsidies dry up as they have in much of Europe, that damn little wind turbine will become a symbol of the stupidity and the embarrassment of the Liberal Party of Ontario. It should have a big plaque mounted on it for all to see: McGuinty’s Folly!

  19. Craig,

Have you asked Mr. Wilkerson about the 2008 World Wind Energy Conference held in Kingston,ON in June of 2008?

  20. Thanks David,

And the article by Voker Thomsen sure goes a long way in explaining how the Ontario Green Energy Act came into being.

  21. Barbara:

At your urging I read it…

    But comments like this…

  23. Got an email back from The Ministry of Energy’s Office today.
I ask the question as to whether there would be gas or coal running side by side with windmills.
I ask for a simple yes or no.
To no surprise, I cannot even put the answer on here.
Here is why. This is on the bottom of the email.

Your patience and research are phenominal. Please, however, the one driving aspect needs not be looked further than AGENDAY 21. And, it goes further than that: Marx, Lenin, Stalin — even Roosevelt. Read F. A Hayek “The Road to Serfdom” — the background on Rhodes, and his scholars.

  27. Karen,

This is the Roosevelt that I read about:

Franklin D Roosevelt who on April 29, 1938 said when addressing

    “Congress on curbing monopolies”

“The liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to the point where it becomes stronger than their democratic state itself. That is in its essence is Fascism. Ownership of government by an individual, by a group or any controlling power”

The Green Energy Act passed in May 2009 was and is an act of fascism. The wind industry is controlling our provincial government. The Green lobbyist are controlling our provincial government. People like Carol Mitchell are collaborators.

People who allow this to happen are either uneducated, complacent or cowards.

  29. Pretty big “Club” going on here isn’t it?…………………wouldn’t it be nice to know how many of these “useless” individuals have sucked money out of our taxpayers trough to attend these junkets?………….

It’s not about “saving” anything like the environment or the planet…………..it’s all about making $$$$ without having to “go to work” like 99% of the rest of the population…………….

Until I see the day that David Suzuki actually produces one ounce of products that can be “used” by an individual to do some form of work, I will maintain my position that these people are nothing more than “blood suckers of society!”

  30. I also read that post this morning and enjoyed the idea that sometimes, just sometimes people get really mad when lied to and after admitting they have been “taken for a ride”, fight back!

To a great extent every single Ontarian has been lied to since birth by a group of less than honest politicians and power brokers and the toughest thing for most of us is to actually “ADMIT” that we have been naive enough to be lied to as most of us think “we” are too smart to be fooled!

Once one can admit they have been “conned” the next step is to become a “truth seeker” and once armed with what we can consider is the TRUTH, then we become Warriors!

Damn the Torpedoes!…..full steam ahead with exposing the liars and con artists!

Patrick Moore is just one example. In our own right “we” can all join his Club!

  31. And along the same line (only different…)…

    http://townhall.com/columnists/williesoon/2011/03/21/what_really_threatens_our_future/page/full/

Citizens of the world’s poor and emerging economies: Beware of claims that the greatest threat we face is from manmade climate change. They are wrong. The real threat is from energy starvation policies implemented in the name of preventing climate change.

Everywhere one looks, people are enjoying modern technologies, improving their lives, realizing their dreams. Other people want the same opportunities for themselves and their children – and they should have them. Every citizen of the world should someday enjoy access to similar levels of energy that people in developed countries enjoy today.

    and so on….

Willie Soon is famous in the Climate Wars… as someone who was directly attacked by John Holdren…

  32. The devstation of this province and one’s families health and life are worth fighting for.
A person has an unspoken right to enjoy their home and property.
Not one Liberal should be left standing on election day.
And those that sold/lease their property and did this to people should not be walking away without consequences.
None of this can happen without landowners.
Why should the neighbours just feel the pain…it should be shared.

“Your editorial “Greenpeace monkeys around” (March 24) claims Greenpeace only does stunts. Over the last four years, we have produced or commissioned more than 20 studies on energy in Canada, including expert analyses of nuclear safety and detailed strategies for phasing out nuclear power in Ontario. Sometimes we even get covered in the Sun (thanks). You do your readers a disservice, however, when you quote “former Greenpeacer” Patrick Moore without acknowledging he has been a paid lobbyist for the nuclear, fossil fuel and forestry industries far longer than he ever worked with Greenpeace.

  36. We’ll Crank Out Earth Hour…

    http://www.torontosun.com/news/columnists/joe_warmington/2011/03/24/17744251.html

The Phony Earth Hour — and other Green MPP dreams…

It’s unclear how many GTA homes will partake in turning off their lights to honour Earth Hour Saturday.

But don’t count in the Menzies in the collective, self-imposed blackout!

“We will not be in the dark,” journalist and conservative commentator David Menzies said Thursday.

Instead, what you will find is a giant beacon in the sky emanating from his Richmond Hill street between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m.

We are going to smash all our twisty bulbs and replace them with incandescent bulbs in a pagan ceremony where we wind widdershins around our Oak tree, whilst wearing a sprig of Holly in our hair.

Later we will jump over a yule log and perform further pagan rites which will rename nameless in light of the tender sensibilities of some of the readers of this blog.

And if we can fins a virgin Greenies (one who has not yet receive a bribe…) then we will…

    But I digress…

The will take the results of our smashing spree and drop them off at the office of the local MPP so they can see the results of the dark despair into which they have driven the local populace…

… or we might just get drunk while burning paper windmill towers in the fire pit…

Anyway I figger we will have a lot more interesting time than any stupit greenie — lestaways we catch them for the ceremony!

    How about you?

  37. Someone posed an interesting theory to me I had never considered which I began researching. A space shuttle can extert a million pounds of thrust and if in the wrong area can possibly cause an eartquake. There were approx. 350 satellites alone sent up last year. They use an enormos amount of fuel. They also poke holes in the ozone layer. I found it disturbing.
Earth Hour is one part of a manipulation ploy…with one goal. For you to accept carbon pricing as a good idea.
I am an environmentalist at heart.
I want affordable energy and I will gladly cut in my wants part of life to make up for what I require for quality of life.
If you want to save the planet..stop shopping till you drop and protect out trees.
Vacation locally and fly as little as possible.
We need a self sustained economy where we demand our products be made here.
    Not China , Not India…..
And we need population control all over the world.

    http://www.scribd.com/doc/22480029/Ecoscience-Population-Resources-Environment-1649-Pgs-John-holdren

You just need to read the words of Dr. John Holdren (Ph.D. not medical) Scince Adviser to the President of the USA) and get up to speed on forced birth control and eugenics. It should be a cheery read for a cold Friday Morning.

But… I think most people on this blog prefer energy wealth and and science — not poverty and pseudo science.

The ideas you expressed are those of fascists and control freaks. I’m not playing.

My point was that environmentalism had become a religion based on belief — not science. Al Gore is not the pope, Dalton McGuinty is not a Bishop in His Church of the Environmental Redeemer. Get a grip!

Let’s try to deal in reality.

  39. Here is something for people who want religion. Read this first.
    http://www.21stcenturysciencetech.com/Articles%202007/GWHoaxBorn.pdf

Read it, “enjoy” it, and understand why plentiful energy is good and false science is bad.

When you read it you will understand how people got away with promoting wind turbines, environmental religions and solar power.

Play fast and loose with the facts and develop cults where we follow the likes of Al Gore.

    Please — some sanity.

Two legs good, false environmentalism bad.

  40. Robinson, first off I don’t rely on people to form my opinions for me.
I lost my religion a long time ago.
I guess for some it’s far better to keep trying to feed the people in third world countries that continue to have more children and watch them starve slowly and die from desease . The real …reality is there are too many people to feed , too many people to care for and provide aid to.
I wish from my heart that wasn’t the case.
For every child in third world world countries that is provided some relief, a thousand more are born into certain starvation , desease and death.
Until these countries can get a grip on population…it is impossible to move forward.
Believe what you will think what you will… your views about me matter absolutely nothing to me.
I am environmentalist meaning I want to leave this province , this country with the natural beauty I see. I only travelled because of duty.
There is several lifetimes of amazing areas , roads to travel , forests to explore and lakes to canoe right here in Ontario…
And that doe snot include 4000 windturbines and a sea of solar panels..especiallly when we don’t need them in the first place.
This is great technology , small scale. For your home and business and farms.
To cut your hydro use. To benefit you .
Instead these special interest groups that see a profit , and a captive lifetime market , get in with the government of the minute and find a way to get in there to make lots of profit..paid by young and old.
    That’s what I am against.
I read you posts , here’s a thought , get out there and do something like we are.
Knock on doors like we are and get people on side by understanding why this will hurt them.
I’m not hiding who I am.

  41. I read you posts , here’s a thought , get out there and do something like we are.

I’m too busy to do anything useful.

    I take your point.

    😉

  42. I don’t know ? Are we doing anything useful here?
The people here are already convinced.
The carbon pricing issue is complicated, big dollars , led by big dollars to make more dollars.
Are we , a mere 34 Million people in a vast country really the problem ?
    Anyway,
I’m not interested in having a battle with you.
The Kincardine and surrounding area is calling for more developers to embrace.
This area even has a sustainable energy office set up to help them put more in.

  43. Greg why don’t YOU post YOUR full name and resume? Perhaps YOU are afraid of exposing YOURSELF as a fraud. Quit trolling and take a hike.

  44. Greg:

Results have been shared with some people.

Why would anyone share anything with you? Present your qualifications for judging what you see and I shall be pleased to negotiate some time with you. I am sure that you are legitimate and I shall treat you so until proven otherwise.

  45. In the broadest sense, a fraud is an intentional deception made for personal gain or to damage another individual; the related adjective is fraudulent.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fraud

I certainly have no concern that Ernest Horvath is a fraud. I certainly disagree with him on some issues, but I have found him to be a thoughtful intelligent person. Can you explain your problem? I would certainly would never associate that word with him. It is ugly and it is libelous. It should certainly be asked that you apologize for your words. So I do ask that much.

If you cannot apologize I request that you be banned from this site. This goes far beyond the occasional disagreements that some have here.

Mr Wilkinson has had thousands of complaints via email, letters, pleas for help, phone calls. Most people don’t use the phone anymore.
Most people use email. Next time ask him how many letters of complaint he and his ministry have received via mail, email and via personal discussion with municipal representatives?
Email is the most common way to communicate. Do not be jerked around by this disgusting mans use of words to minimize the damage. He is the coldest meanhearted thing I have ever had the displeasure of coming across. Shame on his attempts to confuse the issue when people are getting sick. He is a brazen liar and certainly McGuinty’s dream boy.

  47. I have emailed him with my concerns and questions. His silence is deafening.
I’m regretting I was so polite to the S.O.B.
