NDP agrees to prop up corrupt McGuinty Liberal government

CTV news TORONTO— Ontario’s New Democrats have struck a deal to prop up the minority Liberal government in exchange for a new surtax on incomes over $500,000.  NDP Leader Andrea Horwath says the tax on what she calls the ultra-wealthy helps make the Liberals’ budget a little more fair.  She says the NDP will not vote against the budget in a crucial vote Tuesday, which means the minority government will not be defeated.  Read article

  1. Thank you Andrea Horwath!!! Now we’re down to only ONE alternative when we finally get the chance to oust the current disastrous alliance! Good to, at least, KNOW now where the NDP stands on the most divisive issue in recent memory!… the GEA! Interesting how Dalton has now been able to raise taxes AGAIN! I’m sure he appreciates your party’s support and you’ll, no doubt, be rewarded for your complicity in supporting his agenda! We, the people, will remember!!!! You can count on it!!

  2. The NDP and the Liberal Party are one and the same Party. So quick to forget who bankrupt Ontario Hydro back in the early 90’s. Bob Rae’s government and what party is he now? He is a Liberal. The NDP are for whatever the Liberals want, they are not for the people, they don’t care if people are getting sick from the wind turbines, they don’t care that all our tax money is is subisitizing the wind companies. They forgot who they represent, they are suppose to represent the people not themselves. It seems to me McGuinty now has a wife, Andrea.

  3. e-mail from NDP ( Micheal Prue )
My response is at the bottom.
    > Friends,
    >
    > Ontarians told us that they wanted to see changes to the Budget in terms of fairness, job creation and help for everyday families.
    >
    > New Democrats listened. We put forward some positive ideas to change the Budget for the better.
    >
    > The good news is that the government has recognized that their Budget must change. The budget will now include:
    >
    > 1. A greater sharing of the burden
    >
    > A new tax bracket for individuals making more than $500,000, resulting in a modest tax increase of two percentage points
    > A freeze on public sector CEO executive pay
    >
    > 2. Job creation initiatives will be considered
    >
    > Our Job Creator Tax Credit will be considered by the Jobs and Prosperity Council
    > A transition fund for the over 60,000 horseracing workers whose jobs were put in jeopardy
    >
    > 3. Some help for families meeting day-to-day challenges
    >
    > A $20 million investment for rural and northern health care centres which faced cuts and potential closures
    > We’ve won help for childcare, amounting to $242 million over three years
    > Lifting the freeze on help for the most vulnerable Ontarians with a one-percent boost to both ODSP and OW
    >
    > We’re happy to see the budget made a little more fair, but more can be done.
    >
    > This is not an NDP Budget. For everyday people the government’s plan still falls short:
    >
    > The failure to provide any relief from the unfair HST that makes life less affordable
    > The shortsighted plan to privatize Ontario Northland and close tourism centres which will hurt the North and Northerners who have been forgotten by the government time and time again
    > Instead of working with allies in the public sector the government has decided to embrace Mike Harris tactics of confrontation, tactics we know just don’t work
    >
    > We are trying to make the Ontario government put people first. That is what Ontarians wanted and that is what we delivered in a minority government.
    >
    > Today, we choose to put people first. We will continue our work in Queen’s Park rather than choosing to chase votes in an election.
    >
    > You can count on New Democrats. We won’t stop fighting for a fair and prosperous Ontario.

GO TO HELL! ….I WILL USE ALL RESOURCES AVAILABLE TO SEE ALL NDP CANDIDATES DEFEATED IN THE NEXT ELECTION.

WHAT HAPPENED TODAY WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN. YOU NOT ONLY SOLD YOURSELVES, BUT HAVE ALSO SOLD OUT THE PEOPLE OF ONTARIO.

    AGAIN, GO TO HELL!!

  4. 60,000 horseracing workers in Ontario? When you tax the rich they only changes their places of residence. You get them only once.
The NDP has chosen to support rich renewable energy developers at the expense of all Ontarians.

  5. I too replied by stating very clearly that WE the PEOPLE will remember this act of TREASON and WE WILL DESTROY this Party in the election along with that TRAITOR McGuinty who they went to bed with!

  6. Not much we can do about it really………Never mind….

TRACTORS AT DAWN ,BLOCK ALL HWY’s 401 400 etc May 24 weekend..let em ROAR!!!!

  7. I got Prue’s propaganda too. I nearly threw up.
    What a bunch of garbage.
Job creation – yeah right. An exodus of jobs is occurring and
    McTurbine and Hogwash are oblivious.

  8. How Horwath has degraded herself, making a deal with a Liar.
She has lost any respect and has ruined her future.

  9. How can any of us remained surprised? We all know the Liberal government are corrupt, that the NDP’s support of the Liberal budget, included in a Bill 55 that allows the Industrial Wind Energy Companies to destroy Ontario’s wildlife and environment without restraint, is even more corrupt, and that any opposition to such excesses by any Hudak alternative is non-existent!
So what do we do? We only have ourselves to blame, we allowed all these clowns to rule our lives and our communities and never really objected!
Without any recall in Ontario we only have civil disobedience left. Any ideas?

  10. No suprise there , bill 55 will pass , more turbines , So much for ontario. The Ndippers showed that they too don’t give a damn., I’m disgusted

  11. And HUDAK?…same old lines….
WHY DOESNT HE SAY SOMETHING THAT MATTERS??
WHAT ABOUT OUR ENVIRONMENT BEING SOLD OUT?
WHAT ABOUT THE FAMILIES BEING HARMED?
    WHAT IS WRONG WITH HIM?
NO WONDER NOBODY KNOWS WHAT IS REALLY HAPPENING.
HE KEEPS RAMMING ON ABOUT MORE TAXES BLAH, BLAH.
    NO SUBSTANCE, NO CARE.

    • Conservatives should have dumped Hudak.
He blew the last election and I have little
to no faith that he could win the next one.

  12. As the story begins to unwinds it reads………….
McPimp and Whorewath get together to prostitute the province to the highest bidder.
Tim “Go get the Coffee” WhoDat stands idlely by with his hands in his pockets.
    Film at eleven

  13. Note to Greg…… With all due respect, it’s not really polite nor proper to tell ANY MPP to “GO to HELL”!! Just tell them that if they’re so fond of “renewable energy”, to become an “TIMBY”
(ie; Please put “Turbines in MY back yard”!)

    • Should have added PLEASE…….and right now, I’m sorry, but they don’t deserve any respect since they have absolutly no respect for Ontarians

    • I clearly did leave my manners in the basement on this. After hundreds of phone calls and letters that were proper and polite, I do not feel that any of them deserve respect anymore. I can understand that talking to anyone in such a manner does not keep communication open. I do not apologize for my reply to Mr. Prue, in fact I actually toned it down considerably. I deleted using the term ” feminine hygiene container.”

  14. How many times is one expected to be slapped in the face? You are absolutely right Greg; they no longer deserve to be shown any respect.
Friday, May holiday weekend: 400 and 401 protest. Bring it on, whatever you have. Block the highways starting at the crack of dawn.

  15. Guess who didn’t vote FOR the Budget or AGAINST the budget?…………Horwath and all the NDP lemmings………….Abstained!……..how’s that for grovelling immoral and dishonourable act? Didn’t even have the Guts to stand on her two hind hooves and put her bony shrivelled and gnarly hand up to vote!…………..oh an BTW…………the word “respect” should only apply to a human being who cares about other human beings!
