SIGN PETITION HERE!
We, the undersigned, as residents of the GTA (Greater Toronto Area from Hamilton to Oshawa) and Southern Ontario believe strongly in the Green Energy Act and its goals.
As such, we feel it is time for us to stand behind these beliefs and to request that we (specifically the large cities along the lakeshore as mentioned above) do our part to achieve Premier Dalton McGuintys goal of 10,000mw of green energy.
The GTA, being the largest consumer of energy in Ontario, should step up and help to create its own energy by way of wind and solar power. It is time to show the rest of Ontario and the world that we aren’t just paying lip service to this initiative, but rather we are dedicated to showing that we want to be responsible for the production of our own energy.
In order to do this we would like to see industrial wind turbines be built along the shoreline of the Greater Toronto Area, in the same fashion that has already been done along the shorelines of Lakes Erie, Huron and Georgian Bay. These areas as well as rural Ontario have already done their fair share and shouldn’t be expected to continue to produce the power that the GTA requires.
Therefore, in addition to building the remaining necessary wind turbines (required to meet Premier McGuinty’s green energy goal) along the GTA shoreline, we also ask that no additional farmland be sacrificed for the sake of green energy. They should also no longer be built in designated wildlife areas or fragile ecosystems.
If the industrial wind turbines are built in as dense a quantity along the GTA shoreline as is currently along the shores of the other Great Lakes and across rural Ontario, then Premier McGuintys green energy goals will be easily achieved.
Rural Ontario can retain the much-needed farmland for the production of food as has been done for centuries in this province and the GTA can be proud and stand tall in proclaiming that we practice what we preach.

Brilliant…love it!!
Yes, let us reduce the number of acres to be taken out of crop production. Even the United Nations says that we have too many people in Canada who are not secure in their access to an adequate amount of nutritional food on a daily basis. Currently some 16,000 acres will be taken out of production in the next few year because of wind turbine developments in Ontario.
SO the solution is indeed to place the IWT’s near cities where crops are not grown and where most of the electricity is needed anyway.
You bet , I like it that area is already a blight , so fill it up with turbines , Besides they use most of the energy.
I too sign this petition towards the better of all Ontaroians. This is the best of all resolutions we could have to save the world as we know it. Viva la greenies (and profit mongering ceos). Its time to truly save mother earth
OK. I get the sarcasm. But, signing the petition infers support of wind as a viable source of energy. Don’t we want to oppose it everywhere, as being a very bad idea no matter where the turbines are installed??
Having your cake and eating it, too… but, NIMBY!

I believe!
The full title is:
The Green Energy and Green Economy Act (Bill 150).
One point –
the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) has paid a heavy price –
in the protected countryside – while everyone was sleeping.
Another point –
the OFA and farmers
supported, and started –
the ‘green energy’ –
‘save the farmer’ ball rolling – in rural Ontario -
I don’t think they were thinking –
about ‘growing food’.
Another point:
‘sustainable development’ – is a United Nation’s initiative -
supports Bill 150, and everything ‘green’ -
yet,
there is no legal definition – for what – ‘green’ is.
One thing is for sure –
numerous councils across Ontario – are
implementing ‘sustainable development’ – and in the process -
Ontario citizens are being robbed
of their freedom, and their wealth.
The question we should all be asking:
Is Bill 150 illegal, or is it ‘Ultra Virus’?
Scarp your petition – and, start acting Canadian!
We’re all freedom loving citizens – let’s keep it that way.
Whether or not the Bill 150 is legal or not is a central issue here. Pals passing out contracts is also illegal.
If you want green power, then the only true green power is by water, we have Niagara Falls which is now shut down. We have all kinds of water to hook up to, but does our Liberal Government want to do this. No it is all about the money and how much they are making with the multi national companies selling there wind turbines and solar panels. Solar panels are made in China and to make them is contaminating our earth. When installed they fry the soil beneath them and create poisinious weeds. Nothing green about them. Whoops!! they are green the almight buck follow the money and you get green energy.
