Emotions are running high in North Perth and Perth East over a proposed wind energy project. Invenergy Canada hosted a public information meeting in Listowel last night and the message from many in attendance was very clear – “We don’t want you here!” Some similar sentiments were reportedly expressed the night before in Milverton. The format was suppose to consist of written questions answered by a panel of experts but it quickly transformed into a close to four hour heated, open debate. Concerns about the potential impacts on the health of residents and livestock as well as property values dominated much of the discussion. Read article

Ontario Wind Turbine Map

If Dalton McGuinty finds that a referendum can keep a municipality from getting a casino, then why can’t people implore their townships to do a referendum on industrial wind turbines? He has already stated that wind turbines won’t be going where people don’t want them, townships need to record this evidence by way of a referendum. It would be money well spent by all citizens, even if McGuinty doesn’t listen, it would be an accurate record of a townships decision.

‘[excerpt] Invenergy Canada Director of Business Development James Murphy assured the crowd all requirements under the Green Energy Project are being met and the plans are moving forward.’
Note:
Just because Mr. McGuinty says something, and just because you heard it -
doesn’t mean he meant it.
Get it?
Requirements under the Green Energy Act set so that renewable energy developers can get the needed permits to construct their projects. Some good connections will grease the wheels for this process including the financing.
Hey – Mr. McGuinty – NIMBY’s
oh yeah – this will not be tolerated

Re: UN ‘s ‘sustainable development’
Who was on the panel of experts? Brought in at company expense?
Is a “rural block” the same as a concession?
In North Perth, a rural block consists of 1200 acres. ( Originally 12 – 100 acre farms) We are bordered by gravel concession roads and paved county roads. (Mostly gravel) Our block is in the flight path for the Medical Emergency Helicopter transfers from Palmerston Hospital (heliport) to London Health Science Centre Hospitals.
