LSARC was out again this long week end with an information picket and letters of protest at Alona Bay. Over 150 people signed one of our protest letters to McGuinty.
Information leaflets and Fity Dollars were handed out to the hundreds of people who stopped at Alona Bay from all over Canada and many of the US States, including Arkansas, Indiana, Montana, Wisconsin and of course Michigan and one couple from Germany. There were even a few people from Toronto who seemed aware of the problems with IWT and were supportive of our efforts. There were many bikers taking advantage of the beautiful weather, including a gentleman from Wainfleet, who was totally against IWT. It appears that many in Wainfleet are too smart to be taken in by the snake oil from windbaggers and the gang green. Our new new friend took our best wishes back to the Wainfleet Council who have steadfastly opposed Industrial Wind. Wainfleet rocks!
The weather was beautifully sunny but hot and much water was needed by our volunteers who manned our picket at Alona Bay scenic lookout from 10:00AM to 6:30PM on Saturday, Sunday and Monday of the Canada Day week end.
Yours in protection of Canada’s Natural Heritage Treasures, celebrating Canada Day.

Good work people -groups need to do more of this kind of thing
Great job, LSARC!
And thank you for the update.
Lake Superior’s Alona Bay is an ideal location to get the IWT message out. Most of the people who pull over do so with the idea of taking photos of nature. The light goes on in their head when they realize that the next time they drive by the lookout, nature may have been be replaced by ugly, inefficient industry. These are images they may not have imagined while decanting the shiraz back in the condo.
Keep up the great work LSARC!
