Tory energy critic Vic Fedeli is calling for a moratorium on further wind power development in Ontario. Health Canada yesterday announced a study into the relationship between wind turbine noise and health effects reported by nearby residents.
The results of the study are expected to be released in 2014. Fedeli says the fact the federal government feels this study is necessary is reason enough to put a halt to any more wind turbines being built in Ontario.
“The fact the federal government feels this study is necessary is reason enough to put a halt to any more wind turbines being built in Ontario right now,” Fedeli said in a release. “I’ve been to dozens of town halls across the province and have heard the painful stories of those who’ve reported these adverse health effects.” During the last legislative session, the Conservatives put forth a proposal calling for a moratorium on wind turbines, but it was rejected by the Liberal government and NDP.
The outcome of the survey could have a major impact in Southwestern Ontario. NextEra plans to build 178 turbines in Lambton and northwest Middlesex counties while Samsung wants to build 142 turbines north of Goderich. In total, more than 6-thousand turbines are either proposed or planned for the province. Read article

How many turbines will be up and running by 2014?
Don’t just go and talk. Live at these dwellings. I’d like them to send volunteers to have a medical done then live the nightmare for a couple months and do another medical. No science about it. Just fact
We already know how day trips pan out. If the IWT was up behind me I would be more than willing to board a “human rat” for the cause. Its coming. Just don’t know when
Good point made windhater! Im so sick of people writing they drove by one and it was quiet. They need to spend much time inside a home near one!
