Look who’s comin’ to town- Nexterror Energy: January 10

Grand BendNextera would like to consult with you on their 63 turbine project around Grand Bend.  Perhaps they need to be asked exactly what they mean by ‘mitigation’ when they speak of birds, wildlife, noise, shadow flicker etc. Well, we know what it means for a bald eagle, so we can assume it means the same for everything else. wouldn’t hurt to ask them though folks! FYI: these turbines are close to the Pinery Provincial Park as well. Get out there and have your voice heard!

Date:       January 9
Time:       5-8pm
Location: South Huron Rec Centre, 94 Victoria St.E., Exeter  MAP

The Nextera Goshen Wind project will be “consisting of up to 62 GE 1.6 and 1 GE 1.56 MW turbines, step-up padmount transformers, a transformer substation, electrical collection & transmission systems, turbine access roads, an operations building, meteorological towers & construction staging areas.”

“The purpose of the meeting is to provide residents an opportunity to review and discuss the draft documentation related to the Project’s Renewable Energy Approval application.”, although their map , has all proper towns totally removed, as if these towns don’t exist. The towns being treated as non-existant are: Exeter, Grand Bend, Dashwood, Huron Park, Hensall and Zurich, & perhaps others. This suggests deliberate faulty mapping, to mislead us into thinking that there is not enough population of any significance in that whole area, therefore nothing to be concerned about.

They did the same thing on the west Lincoln maps. Many of the streets and long roads have simply disappeared….funny isn’t it? We have simply ceased to exist.

  2. That’s wishful thinking from all the way down the ladder from our Premier to the Wind Scum who want to de-populate Rural Ontario!……………..No People………..No Objections!
    Here’s the proof: http://thebiggreenlie.wordpress.com/2012/05/05/death-sentence-issued-for-rural-ontario-back-in-2004-by-ontario-government/

  3. Jimmy Stewart says:

What would be even more revealing would be the placement, on the map, of all the “receptors” within this geographic area, along with 550m-radius circles around each turbine. That would give a better picture as to how many people will be directly affected.
I intend to go to the Zurich meeting, and raise this issue – among many others!!

  4. Sylvan Bob says:

you can raise the issue – and then you’ll hear their prepared response – their talking point. You have to realize that most of the time you are talking to consultants who are hired to answer your questions. They’ve been doing this for a long time. They know all the questions and they have prepared the answers to almost anything you can come up with.
But even if you do come up with a ‘stumper’. it doesn’t really matter. They aren’t going to change their minds – they aren’t going to suddenly say, “Golly you’re right. This is terrible. We’re going to go home and forget this whole turbine thing. It’s just wrong.”
    Not going to happen.
At the very best, the hireling you are talking to might agree with you and think that they could find another job and might quit this one. But jobs are hard to come by these days. You have a better chance of getting them to quit by making the whole open house experience so unpleasant that they just don’t want to deal with people like us any more. They have people ready to step into their shoes. The scam continues.
Being there to point out things when innocent locals might get sucked in by their lies is significant. Demonstrating – protesting – disrupting – these things have an effect. If we weren’t there doing it, the windies would say – what’s your problem? nobody’s protesting. The MOE used to tell people who complained about health problems, “You’re the only one complaining.” Hundreds of them were told that.
Now they say that people are getting sick because they believe the lies we tell. So why were they getting sick before we started talking about them? Why didn’t they all get better when the MOE told them nobody else was getting sick? Why did they believe our lies, even before we were telling them, but they didn’t believe the lies from our respected civil servants?
These and other questions may never be answered if the windies and politicos have their way.

That makes good sense, Sylvan Bob. It is useless to complain to the company’s “talking head” at a public meeting. Like I posted elsewhere, they care about getting their money. So, is there a bank who helps finance their project–loaning them money? Is there a company that has agreed to buy their power? Let THEM get a major earful of complaints about NextEra cutting down the bald eagle nest, and let those banks and electric buyers squirm because they have chosen to do business with a company who would attack a bald eagle nest with chainsaws instead of moving their turbines. Make those bankers NEVER want to loan ANY wind company another dime…it is only by making their money dry up that you will beat the turbines, in my opinion. Logic and appealing to them to do what is right doesn’t have a chance against the appeal of the money to be made by destroying your community. Post the phone numbers and emails of the bankers and customers NextEra depends on, and complain to THEM. I’ll join you too, as I’m outraged about the eagles (and hundreds of others are too).

      • WillR says:

Good point Jeff. It is an American company.

The bald Eagle is an American symbol and a company that destroys their habitat quickly becomes an object of scorn and derision.

If they are out of Florida say — then you may want to look for conservationist web sites in Florida — see if they will pick up the story.

I’m now going to refer to Josie Hernandez of Nextera as “Comical Josie” what with all her bullshiite comments she makes on an ongoing basis.

    • suspicious and dismayed says:

Reminds me of a li’l tune I hum to myself when I’m shovelling horse sh|t:

Beware of a whore known as Josie,
She’ll lie and say, “Everything’s rosy!”
But her days they are numbered,
      and so, we must wonder:
Will she say that her cell’s “nice and cozy!”?

  6. Summerhaven Summerhell says:

If you have any eagles nesting in your area BEWARE! – NextEra will remove the nest and cut down the tree – all in the name of clean, green energy!

    • DoNoHarm says:

NextTerror may have totally outdone themselves this time, with the eagles’ active nest destruction/ removal. It might be their final disgusting sneaky fast-one that they get away with in Rural Ontario. I’ll be at their Zurich final meeting on Thursday.

  7. Run the bums outta town!!!!!…………………don’t even let them out of their cars to pollute your township with their lies and destruction……..time to get pro-active people!

  8. Gypsie says:

The wind industry destroys your health, environment, the value of your property. This is not a joke or something to take lightly.
Throw down their plaquards. Do not let them in. Run them out of YOUR
town. BIG WIND:YOU ARE NOT WELCOMED. GO HOME. TAKE YOUR KILLING MACHINES WITH YOU.
Industrial wind turbines are about government subsidies. Big bucks, OUR money; finding it’s way into the pockets of big wind CEO’s, including some government officials. Our money, creating industrial machines which are killing us. This is criminal. Protect your families.
In my little wind turbine infested community, there has been 6 deaths, 2 residents committed to homes. Heart disease, diabetes, dementia, suicide. There has been 1 attempted suicide, and many serious ongoing health issues-all within the area of one country concession. There could be more I am not aware of. This is a large percentage of the population in my area.
People have abandoned homes; some are sick with nowhere to go. One neighbor is house bound, on prescribed oxycotin 24/7 – headache.
Big wind people do not return to my community; they know better after tooling us like they did.
Take care of business the moment they come to town. Breaking the law? Laws as such are not good laws They must be made right. End dictatorship in Ontario.

    • D p l says:

As I truly believe these parasites continue to toxacate rural communities they will ruin lives of our brothers and sisters who have called these areas as homes will have less public impact on the scope of publicity as the eagles did. I do find that was great exposure but also shows were we are on the list of importance. As eagles cannot defend itself from us humans destroying their homes we can and we must do more to help our kin. Need to stop all construction of if they do get approval to go ahead. Time to Stop the Wind Turbines before they come down the road. We really do have the right to stop this as this is unlawful to put us at risk of harm.

    • barbara says:

Wow! Needs oxycotin for headaches! What a travesty of justice here!
