ASPHODEL-NORWOOD – Wind Farm Collie Hill LP is expecting to begin construction on its 5.4-megawatt wind power project in the spring or summer of 2014, says project manager Bill York. But the Wind Farm Collie Hill project west of Hastings will proceed only when it gets the go-ahead from the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, said York last week during the last of a series of public information meetings at the Asphodel-Norwood Community Centre.

The company plans to submit its renewable energy application to the ministry in this month after it finishes collecting input and comments from township residents, said York. Comments can be e-mailed to info@zeroemissionpeople.com and info@windworkspower.com. “We encourage e-mails as part of the official record,” he said.

“Once this is complete we will file our report and all the paperwork will go in to the ministry for review, which we expect will be a six to eight-month process. And then once that’s reviewed, and we’re issued a go-ahead to go forward, then we’ll start construction.” Read article
