Saugeen Shores Officially Unwilling to Host Turbines

SaugeenShores-forwebBlackburn News
Saugeen Shores council is making it official — it does not want more wind turbines in their municipality. Council voted to prepare a letter to send to Premier Kathleen Wynne, declaring the municipality an unwilling host to future wind energy developments.

Vice-Deputy Mayor Doug Gowanlock says it’s the only way to find out if the province is serious about only approving wind turbines in municipalities that want them. He adds the majority of residents in Saugeen Shores have made it clear they are not in favour of wind turbines and council is simply acting accordingly.

  1. Why ???? The Ontario Liberals just want to turn your Municipality into a Post-Industrial JunkYard…..

P.S. the Ontario Liberals lied about not forcing Industrial Wind farms into your community if you don’t want them…..The Ontario NDP hates Rural Ontario too….

    • Oh, no! Kathleen PROMISED that she would give us more say. You’re not calling her a — LIAR, are you? A Liberal? A Liberal lesbian? A Liberal lesbian premier?? No WAY!!! Especially when she’s wearing her red boots. We can always trust what she says when she’s wearing them.

As for Whorewath, she only wants whats right for rural residents too. You talk like she’s only out for herself. *scoff*

  2. It’s official – a letter writing – ‘group hug’.

Sitting in a chair for a long time – can give you a back-ache.
Step One – Let’s get rid of the chairs.

It’s the only way to find out – it’s a fact.

  3. Lisa Thompson’s defeated bill speaks volumes about turbine placement choices. If council really wanted to make a statement concerning the CAW turbine, they would announce a community boycott of using the CAW facilities.

    • Totally agree…not enough official condemnation by counsel, if indeed there is any amongst them. The townspeople did have their say, to no avail.
