Over 75 people filled the public galley to standing room only at 655 Bay Street in Toronto on June 21st 2013,  to hear final closing reply submissions before the Environmental Review Tribunal hearing chaired by
Heather Gibbs and Robert Wright.    Shortly after 0930 am the reply points by Environmental Lawyer Eric Gillespie on behalf of the appellants were being made.  The decision being sought in the final conclusion of the hearings was that the approval for the Ostrander Point wind project in Prince Edward County  be revoked on the basis of harm to human health and serious and irreversible harm to the environment.

One statement that resonated with the observers came about in the discussion of  the wind developers proposed plan to mitigate any adverse impacts by creating improvements to Ostrander Point post construction.  Applause greeted the statement by Gillespie in repeating the developers own expert’s opinion that Ostrander point needed  no improvements and it should be left alone as it is.    The final decision about the appeal against the approval for this wind project is expected on or about July 10th.
