Bull**** Energy found guilty of lying and manipulation

OEB Judgement:  The price compairson being used by Bullfrog Energy contains the following promotional statement :  “In Ontario, Bullfrom Power greneration injects EcoLogoM certified wind power and low impact hydro power into the Ontario electricity grid to match the amount of power your home uses”  This is contrary to section 4.8 of the Electricity Retailer Code of Conduct

  1. Oh dear, can this be true? A “green” company manipulating consumers into signing contracts and telling lies [excerpt from above]?

    Roundtable meeting!
A minor misstep – carry on ladies and gentlemen!
    We’re GREEN!

  2. Interesting. Newstalk 1010 boasts that they use Bullfrog power. Jerry Agar, one of the morning hosts on the radio station, has commented in the past about the shortcomings of Green Energy. Will he say anything about this?

  3. I think it is a great idea they had. But they did not go far enough. They should indeed sign up people to use ONLY green power, and charge customers the full green power rates. So if someone wants to use only solar, they buy it a 80c/kwh. And when the sun isn’t shining, the customer gets NO POWER! Then we would see how much these eco-nutcases like “green power.”

  4. My 6 year old son read this off a package of Dad’s cookies.
“Dad’s cookies are bullfrogpowered with 100% green electricity and 100% green natural gas, which helps reduce our carbon footprint”. I Checked the web site out http://www.bullfrogpower.com/dads to find gases from a dump in Montreal are captured, cleaned and injected into the gas line that powers Dad’s cookie factory.
    From the link above,
“Through the agreement, Bullfrog Power’s generators inject green natural gas—as well as green electricity—into the respective natural gas and electricity systems to match the amount of gas and electricity used in the production of Dad’s Cookies”.
“Green natural gas is produced by capturing and cleaning the gas produced through the decay of organic matter in our everyday waste stream. It is then injected onto the national gas pipeline, providing a clean and renewable alternative to fossil fuel-based natural gas”
How do they get only this green power into Dad’s cookie factory?
We haven’t bought as many Kraft products lately.

    • Hey Ernie,
There’s nothing like a fresh baked pan of delicious cookies –
      so easy too…..
your little son could spoon some batter onto a pan –
      then you both
clue your eyes to the oven window for 10 min.
      and –
Yumm O – you sit there and enjoy!
      Life is sweet!

      p.s. too bad about Kraft!
