Bluewater Councillors are currently looking at a possible review of its bylaw regarding noise in the municipality. Councillor John Gillespie explains he and Councillor Dave Roy recently attended a couple of meetings hosted by a group of municipalities that are concerned about the impact of wind turbines. Councillor Gillespie presented council with a proposed bylaw that came out of one of those meetings regarding noise.
Gillespie points out while it’s clear the conversation was initiated over concerns for noise from wind turbines, the bylaw cannot be specific to one particular industry. He adds the challenge is in arriving at a generic bylaw that doesn’t prohibit things like the drying of crops at certain times of the year. Read article
