Suncor hits snag in Ontario

Opponents of Suncor Energy’s 40MW Adelaide wind project have filed an appeal with the Ontario Environmental Review Tribunal. The provincial Environment Ministry in December issued a renewable energy approval (REA) authorizing construction of the 18-turbine wind farm.

The appellants seek to overturn that decision, claiming the project will cause serious harm to human health and to plants, animals and the environment. A preliminary hearing is scheduled 24 January with a full hearing set to begin 24 February. Read article
