PECFN gala fundraising dinner April 12: support continuing Ostrander Point appeal

PECFN is hosting a gala dinner by highly-regarded chef Michael Hoy, plus art auction, on Saturday, April 12 at the Picton Curling Club.  Purpose: to raise funds for its continuing appeal of the Ostrander Point wind project approval.  Last year’s dinner by Michael Hoy was a sellout, so it’s advisable to reserve early.  For more information and to reserve online, click HERE, or phone Sandra at 613-393-5577.

To bring you up to date, PECFN’s earlier ERT win last July, on grounds of serious and irreversible harm to Blanding’s turtle, was reversed in February by Ontario’s Divisional Court.  This means that the project is back to its earlier approved status.  PECFN has applied to Ontario’s Court of Appeal to hear an appeal of the controversial Divisional Court decision.  If its application is successful (decision several months from now), the further appeal will take several more months. 1. Last year’s event was outstanding.

Michael Hoy’s dinner was superb and the excellent PEC wine, included with dinner, never stopped flowing.

The art auction was a hoot. The more wine served, the higher the bidding went.
Gathered a tidy sum for the cause.

Fundraising has never been this much fun. Wouldn’t miss it for anything!

  2. It will be on order for you to invite Sandra Pupatello. She will have been over at Hydro One for two weeks and she’ll be able to tell everyone how she’s going about cleaning house. We all know there’s a lot of overpaid and underworked people making decisions that are not in the best interest of the people. She has to make things happen fast to be able to keep her job when Hudak takes over. I guess we have to wait first for Andrea Horvath to decide on an election.
