Shelburne left in the dark by wind project

Shelburne town council is tired of feeling “half pregnant” regarding the limbo that is the Dufferin Wind Power project. According to the Dufferin Wind Power website, local farmers and landowners who are involved in this project are enthusiastic about helping to provide clean energy for future generations, while also contributing to the financial well-being of the Dufferin community.

But not everybody is so enthusiastic. So far, the Town of Shelburne has received little in the way of co-operation from the project’s proponents. And, as was evidenced during a regular scheduled council meeting on Monday, the municipal government is fed up with the lack of attention.

The town has yet to receive project drawings, traffic mitigation plans, or an outline of potential measures to ensure the environment’s protection. The town doesn’t even have a proposed work schedule for the wind farm. Read article

    STOP THE WIND TURBINES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • How about giving them a flood light to that darkness,

The solution to everything: slavery to the State
      2014 06 18
By Jon Rappoport | Activist Post

Let me clarify that. Slavery to the corporate State. Government and mega-corporations work hand in hand.

The incurably naïve believe the State is beneficent. The government is kind. The government knows what to do. The government will solve society’s ills if we let it.

Of course, the government, in the form of NSA, is spying on everybody all the time—but you see, that’s not really the government. It’s a rogue element.

Sure it is. And rainbows will appear at any moment and the people of Earth will experience a galactic frequency that eradicates all impulses toward conflict.

To put it another way, people see what they want to see.

“Ahem, when I say ‘government,’ I don’t mean the CIA or the Pentagon or the FDA or the President’s national security team, or fraudulent federal scientists, or the whole lot of venal people in Congress, or corrupt prosecutors and judges or invasive bureaucrats or paper-pushing money-sucking desk jockeys.”

Of course not. Government is an idea in the mind of God.

And when you think about it, the NSA watches over us to make sure we stay on the path of righteousness. It’s absurd to be suspicious of the State. The authors of the Constitution, who tried to limit central authority, were a bunch of paranoids.

We need more government, not less.

Here are quotes from George Orwell. In case there is any doubt, he is describing aspects of the State:

“As I write, highly civilized human beings are flying overhead, trying to kill me. They do not feel any enmity against me as an individual, nor I against them. They are ‘only doing their duty’, as the saying goes. Most of them, I have no doubt, are kind-hearted law-abiding men who would never dream of committing murder in private life.” (The Lion and the Unicorn, 1941)

“Actions are held to be good or bad, not on their own merits, but according to who does them, and there is almost no kind of outrage — torture, the use of hostages, forced labour, mass deportations, imprisonment without trial, forgery, assassination, the bombing of civilians — which does not change its moral colour when it is committed by ‘our’ side.” (Notes on Nationalism, 1945)

“A totalitarian state is in effect a theocracy, and its ruling caste, in order to keep its position, has to be thought of as infallible. But since, in practice, no one is infallible, it is frequently necessary to rearrange past events in order to show that this or that mistake was not made, or that this or that imaginary triumph actually happened. Then, again, every major change in policy demands a corresponding change of doctrine and a revaluation of prominent historical figures.” (The Prevention of Literature, 1946)

“But actually, he thought as he re-adjusted the Ministry of Plenty’s figures, it was not even forgery. It was merely the substitution of one piece of nonsense for another. Most of the material that you were dealing with had no connexion with anything in the real world, not even the kind of connexion that is contained in a direct lie. Statistics were just as much a fantasy in their original version as in their rectified version.” (1984, chapter 4)

      • Hi non-voter!! I will give you the short version – know as the coles notes version – short and sweet!! – I don’t think the government is kind and that they will do the right thing by us!! – I believe that like I believe one can part the Red Sea!! – action must be taken regarding this turbine situation!!!!

        STOP THE WIND TURBINES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Yes you are absolutely right and I guess that not enough people had watched or care about the fight against wind turbines. It was so evident in the election that it makes me sick just thinking about the power they now have. When and how can we make this understood? Pathetic!

    • HI ijam!!! I was talking with a woman in Smithville!! and she is just beside herself!! her son because of the turbines – his balance is off!!! – and that is just one story!! it pissed me off so much that I just had email!! Premier Wynne of the No Moral Compass Group (formerly Liberals!!) – I asked her how could she go ahead with such a large wide spread project and not do her homework!! and the people that surround her have not done their jobs!! – I point blanked ask her the question – How can you go ahead with these projects and not have done your home work!!??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

  3. Please cc any letters to our Prime Minister, Stephen Harper. I have always found it useful to go directly to the top honcho with any problem I’ve had. Enough of trying to make a corrupt Liberal government listen to the reality of industrial wind turbines. If PM doesn’t listen, we and our children and our grand children are screwed and it will be time to take matters into our own hands with protests and whatever………………………I hate the thoughts of civil disobedience but that is what it may come down to. Liberal media may start to cover us then.

  4. I’ve sent so many heartfelt emails to Kathleen Wynne. I’ve still never received a response.
Our strategies have to be much more effective.
I fully appreciate your anger Lyn.
The expectation was that rural people were not going to be proactive and effective in the face of this human rights violation.
Leaders have come forth in Huron County and are working diligently on behalf of victims. We need to support the efforts of Shawn and Trish Drennan , the courageous plaintiffs in the Charter Challenge to the Supreme Court, being led by Julian Falconer. When precedents are set in the courts, things change.
Check out the recent developments re: legal action in Prince Edward County.
I’m grateful to hear the compassion you’ve expressed for your friend’s child.
I’m stunned to see how few people can feel compassion for victims of adverse health effects.

    • Hi Sommer!! yes I agree it is hard to believe that some people don’t have any compassion!! – and Oh I most certainly plan on doing more than just emailing the Crook that runs this province!!! – like I said I just want to be a thorn in her side! – after all it took over 150 emails to her office to get a response regarding the taking down of the eagles’ nest in Selkirk Ontario and the she passes the buck!! – again I urge people to watch the documentary DOWNWIND!!! send it to everyone you know!!

      SROP TEH WIND TURBINES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Hi snowball!! – I get you!! -good gravy the more I get into this wind turbine crap!! the more corrupt this Liberal government is!! – I thought that the Liberals were corrupt when they ran the country with the idiot Prime Minister saying the new money can’t be the old money because it is the new money!! idiot!!!!!!!!!! and then Paul Martin!!!!! – I spoke with our local radio host Roy Green he summed it up that he would never ever have Paul Martin on his show again – quote Mr. Martin is like a pancake un quote!!!!!! – but these provincial Liberals have ruined the province !! – am just wondering how much longer it all will last!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. The liberal media is in bed with those involved in IWTs. Expect no help from them.

An economic boycott could be tried. Kruger Wind belongs to Kruger Inc. which sells consumer products in Canada, U.S. and the U.K.

Consider asking other anti-IWT groups to join in a boycott? The video is now available and there is ERT testimony as well which would backup any other groups in this kind of effort.

  6. The door to a political solution closed last week. So other ways will have to be used.
Simply don’t do business with thoses involved in IWTs. No one has to do any name calling.
Rural Ontarians’ property taxes go to support the provincial government as well as the schools.

  7. Hi Barbara !! – so what do you consider name calling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! – frankly being nice and polite has gotten us nowhere !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not just Rural Ontario taxes support schools and the Ontario government!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! – every single one of us who pays taxes supports everything in this have NOT province!!!

  8. Do you want to end up in a situation like Esther is in?

But you can ask people not to do business with a company and leave the name calling out.

Cutting off a major source of money, property taxes, for the Ontario government is a significant issue.

    • Dear Barbara !!!! I was NOT implying in any way shape or form (you) ending up like Esther!! – good god!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! – and frankly how does one/business or otherwise go about cutting off a major source of money ie property taxes for the Ontario government????????????????? – does anyone on this site know if anything is sign sealed and delivered regarding the natives and or land re wind turbines?????

  9. The discussion at OWR on non-payment of property taxes was put on hold with the expectation of an election when McGuinty left.

One of the posters here did a lot of work on this subject matter.

OWR groups can send private e-mails to anti-wind groups in the U.S.& the U.K asking them if they can help rural Ontarians out with the not doing business matter with anyone involved in owning IWT projects in Ontario.

  10. Wynne worked with Toby Heaps, a known associate of Maurice Strong, on the Toronto transit/”green” bonds last year. The announcement of this got good MSM coverage.

Remember the recent Maurice Strong birthday party guest photos? Heaps was there too.

  11. Government payrolls are met largley with current taxes collected as there are no surplus funds to dip into to meet payrolls. So money would have to be borrowed to meet payrolls.
QP does not supply the money. Taxpayers supply the money.
