March of the Wind Turbines in Northern Ontario

On July 9th, 2014, the appeals of James Fata and 2401339 Ontario Ltd. heard by an Environmental Review Tribunal (ERT) on the matter of objecting to a proposed 36 turbine industrial wind farm on Bow Lake were dismissed. Jim’s appeal was with concern to serious harm to health and the 240 company focused their concern on the irreversible harm to the environment- little brown bats and birds, and safety- the impact of wind turbines on the Montreal River Radar Station. The ERT determined that neither appellant presented enough evidence to support their positions. That decision can be read in full on the ERT website.

Bow Lake is located about 80 clicks northwest of Sault Ste. Marie. The wind farm project has been sited along the eastern edge of Lake Superior and south of the Montreal River. The project is within the sight line of Nejik Lake residents. The Bow Lake setbacks satisfy government regulation of 500 meters or greater but for the appellants and participants in the Bow Lake appeal industrial wind turbines can never be set far enough back.

George Browne is a member of Lake Superior Action Research Conservation (LSARC). LSARC is a grassroots collective of individuals who share a common interest in conservation and preserving the Eastern shore of Lake Superior from industrialization. George was also the appellant on behalf of the 240 company. “This is not a matter of us not wanting these wind projects in our backyard. We don’t think they belong in anybody’s backyard.” Read article

    • You mean the legal fraud
As all things legal is legalese therefor ununderstandable for common people and therefore fraudulent. You need lawyers pimps to digest there spells on the words they make up to there understanding to line there pockets. just look at there homes, cars and vacations all stolen from us thru fraud
Join the lawful jurisdiction and win for a change and stand in truth instead of there just to be normal routine because that is the way we were brainwashed to do.

  1. Would urge everyone to copy this press release and provide copies for local councils and MPPs:

    U.S. Energy & Commerce Committee, July 23, 2014

“EPA can’t get carbon message straight”

Has statements made by Gina McCarthy, U.S. EPA.
This is not about pollution control but about investment opportunities in renewables and clean energy.

Follow the link to the press release.

At last an admission that this is just about money.

Bow Lake is just another Wolfe Island for this developer.

  2. Just who are you directing that comment to? We are all adults here and the fraud is coming from the Wind Developers, the smart ass Teachers Pension that Fund/Invest and destroy Ontario, the MOE, the MNR, all their lawyers and even ours that have jumped on the gravel train and The F….. Liberal Government that started this mess in the first place. So lets end it! This is what we are trying to do and it seems that you non voter have a lot to say and talk easy about this fraud but contribute no logical action. This Bow Lake project should not have gotten this far and people need to be informed. Spread the word and try to help. There is absolutely no good reason for this development but greed!

    • jman…. It might help to have some background as to the identity of non voter and his circumstances. I had been getting increasingly frustrated with some of the things he has written in this blog. However, given a response from Barbara near the end of the comments section of “Turbines Changing Landscape in Lambton County”, I’ve softened my criticism somewhat. He appears to be “mad at the world” although much of his anger would seem misdirected. My wife and I are currently living in the middle of a Wind “Farm” surrounded by NextTerror turbines, mostly to the west, and Samsung turbines to the north, east, and south of us (about 3 dozen in all). We are suffering from many of the maladies often linked to IWTs and have nowhere to go to escape. We may, very well, be in the minority (as the MOH and MOE may suggest) however, the symptoms are REAL for us and many others and the anger and frustration needs to be directed at the source of these issues. Arguing among ourselves is fruitless and debilitating. Let’s continue to stand together and confront the REAL enemy!!

      • Rural Ontario could end up with a lot more people “mad at the world” if this situation continues.

  3. When last I read that OTPP is on the Board of BluEarth because OTPP is invested in BluEarth or at least this is the official version so had one Board member. Two Board members now.

But seems rather cozy to me in light of further investments in BluEarth for more projects by OTPP. Just my opinion.

    • When organizations such as OTPP invest in something that in turn could attract other investors to invest in the same investments that OTPP has.
