Those who move away not part of turbine study

Dr. Hazel Lynn says an important segment of the population has been left out of a Health Canada study into the impact of industrial wind turbines on peoples’ health.

The Health Canada study, released Thursday, found no link between wind turbine noise and negative health effects in people. But Lynn, the medical officer of health for Grey-Bruce who has done a review of such studies, said some of the best survey findings are from the people who have moved away because they simply couldn’t live near turbines.

“These folks are still living there so obviously they are not in that 10% of people who actually abandoned their homes,” Lynn said of those who participated in the study.

“Although the wind folks would pooh-pooh those people (who have moved away) as being especially difficult, I think they are especially sensitive and if you are living in a place where you are afraid to go to sleep at night then you are going to move. Obviously this study didn’t pick up any of those folks.” Read article

  1. This study was a farce!
We were not part of the study!
We’re just Nimbys who plan to move away as soon as possible!
Plus we have a lawsuit pending so the MOE & wind company’s hands have been tied so they have not been able to help us!
I have personally invited a number of people in public office to come to our home and experience the effects for themselves but all politely declined!
No one will ever understand the emotional pain of a family who is forced to give up on their hopes and dreams when they move from their home!

    • In plain English the Michaud family has been put through hell!

At least at the moment, this appears to me to be another delaying game. Make rural Ontarians spend all of their time working on IWT health issues and ERTs while the IWTs continue to be installed.

This is money on the table for shareholders of Suncor Energy Inc.

Money can talk big in both Toronto and Ottawa.

  2. Thank you Dr. Lynn for responding so quickly on behalf of the victims of ‘green’ energy. The review done by both professional and clinical peer is crucial.

The impression left by mainstream media and shallow readers/listeners/viewers is that this study is valid and that it settles the argument.

  3. When are you going to realize it is infra sound? When are you going to do an intense study of what infra sound does to the human body over time? When are you going to study what infra sound is doing to people living abutting heavily traveled highways? THESE PEOPLE GET SICK, GET BREAKDOWN IN BODY PARTS IN A HIGHER THAN OTHERS? THEY GET MEDICAL HELP. BUT NOBODY LOOKS AT THE EFFECTS OF INFRA SOUND WHERE THEY LIVE? EVERYBODY SAYS, “THAT’S THE WAY IT IS- THE LUCK OF LIVING”. JUST LIKE CANCER. YET WITH CANCER WE LOOK AT CAUSES LIKE SMOKING.
DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS FOLKS. IT IS DANGEROUS TO LIVE BESIDE THE 401 OR WORK NEAR RICH INFRA SOUND ENGINES LIKE JETS OR NEAR WIND TURBINES. a FEW YEARS FROM NOW, PEOPLE LIVING NEAR WIND TURBINES WILL GET ILLNESSES BEYOND THE AVERAGE.
THE STUDY DOES NOT L;OOK AT LONG TERM EXPOSRES OR HOW INFRA SOUND DESTROYS BODIES OF MANY PEOPLE.

    • Remember when the wind energy industry lied that wind turbines don’t emit ANY infrasound…

      • or loud noise…mmmm…like a refrigerator, right Mister Gerretsen?
